Fernando Gonzalez earned a BA in Visual Studies from Harvard University and studied architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He taught photography, art and architecture at Phillips Academy and at The American School in Switzerland (TASIS) , where he served as Chairman of the Art Department. He has been Administrative Director of the TASIS Schools and Summer Programs in Europe and has directed summer programs and led student trips throughout Europe for the past 40 years. He has overseen TASIS campus development projects in England, Switzerland, France and Greece and in 2002, he co-founded the TASIS School in Puerto Rico. His love of vernacular architecture has led to his restoration of Les Tapies over the past 40 years.

ALYSSA DELABRUERE

Alyssa DeLaBruere is an artist and educator based in Newport, Vermont. Alyssa is an accomplished painter, printmaker, mixed media artist and teacher. Alyssa attended the University of Vermont where she studied fine art and art history, then continued her education further at Johnson State College and the Vermont Studio Center where she obtained duel certification in both elementary and art education. While in Vermont, Alyssa teaches all ages and media out of her teaching studio: Atelier Art Studio. Currently she is involved in a year-long project entitled Postcards from the Parks in which she is visiting National Parks across the country to use art to bring awareness, action and projection to these national treasures. 2018 will mark Alyssa’s seventh summer teaching drawing, painting and printmaking at Les Tapies.

GAIL BELAIEF

YOUR YOGI


Gail received her teacher training through American Aerobic Association International and Finding Inner Peace Yoga School.   Additional trainings include Reiki 1, Craniosacral Therapy 1, Children's Yoga certification, coursework with David Vendetti of South Boston Yoga.  She is certified in Yin Yoga, Pilates Mat, Beat Cancer Boot Camp and in Level I Thai Massage.  Gail is a pediatric Occupational Therapist and has been practicing for 35 years.  She teaches yoga, fitness, and wellness classes both publicly and privately and leads seasonal yoga retreats in Vermont, as well as, residential retreats.  She specializes in teaching mindful breath with the inner spirit and the physical practice.

Chris's passion for food and feelings has guided the continuum of his career as an entrepreneur, restaurant developer, luxury resort director, and hospitality industry consultant. While progressive food, drink, design, branding, and service are his medium, it is the art of inspiring positive and purposeful workplace culture that is his canvas. His first creation in 1990 was Magnolias Uptown Down South in historic Charleston, SC. Magnolias is considered a critical cornerstone of the Charleston’s culinary renaissance as a top fine dining destinations in North America. Magnolias was soon followed by South City Kitchen in Midtown Atlanta, Urban Coffee Bungalow espresso bar and gourmet to-go shops (one of which was located in the High Museum of Modern Art), and The Food Studio and Bold American Events. After following his heart and family to Vermont to raise his children, from 1999 to 2017 he served as Director of Hospitality for Stowe Mountain Resort overseeing all food service, hospitality and operations of the legendary ski mountain featuring award winning 4-star hotel, performing arts center, private slope-side dining club, special events venue, and industry leading ski lodge dining. In 2017, Goss founded Awakened Hospitality, a specialized consultancy offering coaching, mentoring, training, and development to service leaders and business owners to focus on his greatest contribution - inspired workplace culture.

LIZZI RIOUX

Lizzi Rioux is an artist and educator based in Plymouth, MA.  She earned a Bachelor of Art in Art Education at University of Massachusetts and a Master of Art in Fine Arts and Education at Cambridge College. She teaches art to middle school students, graduate classes and individual and group lessons.  She continually fine tunes her skills as a painter and participates in festivals throughout the United States and Canadian Maritimes where she has been awarded for her works. Lizzi has achieved two Arty Awards both in 2012 and 2017 for recognition of persons and organizations who stood out in support of local arts and culture during the previous year.  Her love and expertise of art education inspired her to create Art Bar International.   



JOHN SMALLEY

John Smalley holds MA and MFA degrees from the University of Iowa. As Head of Visual Arts at TASIS The American School in England since 1987, he has led an innovative program aimed at integrating studio art and art history. A practicing draftsman, painter and printmaker with an international exhibition record, he brings in-depth knowledge of figure drawing, perspective, architecture and landscape painting to the program. Mr. Smalley has inspired many TASIS graduates to pursue post-secondary degrees in studio art and art history. He is the Directory of the Fleming Gallery and oversees the successful visiting artist program at TASIS England.
